Special Weapons and Tactics teams from Rockingham and Laurinburg police departments are training together this week in Rockingham sponsored by Richmond Community College. Thursday they were practicing techniques at a vacant house in the Philadelphia community. Rockingham Police Chief Robert Voorhees said his department has a goal this year of cross-training with other agencies to familiarize officers with the techniques of others to better integrate mutual operations.
