The priviledge to vote

Dear Editor,

In November we will have the privilege to vote for President of the United States of America, and that is a privilege we should all take advantage of.

America is a great nation but we have some serious problems in our country. It is the worst that I have ever seen in my lifetime. Unemployment has been above 8 percent for 42 months, 23 million people are without jobs, we have a very slow economy, people are losing their homes and the price of gas has risen to almost $4 per gallon, (which by the way increases the cost of food and all necessities of life). We are 16 trillion dollars in debt, and borrowing 40 cents on every dollar we spend from China. This paints a very sad and gloomy picture for the greatest nation on earth. I am an American who is very concerned about these problems.

This President and his administration have failed the American people. He promised to bring hope and change that we could believe in. I do not believe in the hope and change which I have seen. Can we honestly say a job well done Mr. President? Do we want four more years of the same or even worse? I do not believe that he deserves four more years.

I support Mitt Romney because he has proven leadership ability which this country needs. I believe that he will get this country back on track by creating jobs and lead us back to peace and prosperity.

President Obama has made the statement that America is no longer a Christian nation. America is a Christian nation which was founded by godly men with godly principles and took a stand for what was right. We need some godly people today that will take a stand for righteousness.

I encourage every Christian to pray for our country. This is the most important election in my lifetime and perhaps the history of our nation. II Chronicles 7:14 is still true today: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” We need healing and blessings from Almighty God. We have been divided as a nation long enough and we need to be united once again.

I encourage you to pray but also to vote on Nov. 6, for the man which I believe will unite this country once again.

America can be great again! God bless the United States of America!

Marvin Blake

Rockingham

Osamaobama, I know your issue, narrow mindedness, and backwards thinking. You call people names, look in the mirror, oh by the way calling a person a "fool," is a sin. You really are sad, with your worthless comments. You like your little world!

I am pretty sure voting for the antichrist would also be considered a sin?

It's sad "grits" that you don't want prayer over something as erroneous as "dictatorship." Vote for who you want, but first get facts, before you make such an out of bound judgment. A dictator couldn't survive in America, they would kill any dictator, that's how this country flows. Misinformed and opinionated people are narrow thinkers( not being mean) but get facts ma'am.

Mr. Ash, Its amazing to me how you always speak of God and prayer, yet you support a party that boos God at their convention?

louis b. long and others, see, you can learn after all.

The economy is moving in the right direction albeit slowly. When President Obama is re-elected on November 6, you can act like an American and support his efforts or continue your neo-con ways.

Why do I think your choice is already made?

Economy moving in the right direction? If that fool is not voted out in Nov., look for a total collapse of the USA. There is no way this country can survive another 4 years of this! Companies are waiting to see if that fool is voted out to hire!

Telltales, in spite of all the failures and all the Czars and all the wasted stimulus money and all the entitlements, I guess there is some temptation to say,"see, I told you so, you can`t make chicken salad out of chicken ....

So there you have it telltales I guess everyone who didn`t vote for President Obama is a racist, and you have played your last and only card, so hurry on back to that convenience store you said you worked at and gather up some more political gems.

osamayomama, President Bush was the 2nd biggest failure this country has ever had, behind H. Hoover. However, President Bush had policies that I did not like, but I didn't hate him. The neo-cons actually hate President Obama, not for what he does but because of who he is. This is the most un-American value I have ever seen out of a party even for neo-cons.

Things went sour in the economy after the Dems. took over in the house and Senate. The housing meltdown was caused by liberal pressure to loan to unworthy buyers. This practice was started by your hero Clinton and crashed long after he left. Check your facts!

Also, Owecommie has surpassed J. Carter as the biggest failure this country has ever known!

My vote is for Mitt Romney! I did not vote for Obama 4 years ago and just as then he has said or done nothing now that would ever change my mind. He is a dictator, a jealous man. If there were no people in this country that made alot of money, this country would not have the means to prosper! We, the American people built our government, we own it, we run it. We elect a person into the office of President to help us keep it running, not tear it down as Obama and his administration is doing. as for me, I'm NOT better off than I was 4 years ago. There have been times I have worried where my next meal is going to come from, how am I going to pay my rent, am I going to be evicted and find myself on the streets homeless, so NO! I will not vote for a man who has done nothing for me and my family. Im scared of 4 more years under this Obama administration...and you should be also.

Sir do you really believe president Obama is a dictator? If he was he is a complete failure, Congress is blocking his bills until the election is over, a dictator wouldn't allow that to happen. Grits go get facts before you put out bad information. You are bearing false witness, which is a terrible sin. Your personal issues like rent, meals, homeless has nothing to do President Obama sir, think about it, you can't blame Him for that. I will pray for you to be able to maintain your home and other nedds you have, but don't blame the president.

@edwardash, dont pray for me, instead pray America will do the right thing and vote out this dictator, yes I do believe he is a dictator. How do you explain the underminded Obamacare TAX he slipped in on the American people? A tax, but four years ago he (OBAMA) plainly told Americans "it is not a tax, it will not be paid for by increasing taxes" What? Was that just one of the many lies he has told? Of course it is, that seems to be the only thing he knows how to do is lie, and wastefully spend our tax dollars. A person cannot operate a vehicle on a public highway unless he/she obtains a valid driver's license to do so...but if that person doesn't intend to ever operate a vehicle they never have to obtain a license, right? They have a choice, under Obama's healthcare policy, I dont have a choice, its mandatory...I'll never buy into it, it's my constituitional right not to. I guess if I can't blame Obama for my money/jobless problems, then why does he get to blame Bush for his? Your obviously closed-minded sir, and maybe you should seek more information before you go spitting out words that are meaningless. By the way, Im not a sir!

louisblong, Please if you must use words you don't understand look them up. The Latin term that you used is spelled et al., notice that it has a period after the al. because it is an abbreviation of et alia, maybe you can learn after all.

telltales, You are following the pied piper off the cliff and you are questioning Mr. Longs spelling? You dont question a being who appeared with no past? A birth certificate that lists his father as a Kenyan, a full year before Kenya was a nation? No college records, a ss # of a person from a state that he has never lived? Do You only question things that suit you politicly?

Like most libtards, you attack and try to degrade anyone who disagrees.

When I read comments made by telltales, it makes me realize how many people that vote and have no idea of the beliefs or charactor of the persons that they voted for, Obama is by far the worst person ever to be president and does not have any idea how to or what to do to fix our nations problems.

If Obama is reelected it will mean the posible failure of this nation and the American peoples way of life, we cannot continue to lavishly support a growing population of non producers and dead beats, which is completely out of control and appears to grow every day, they have no pride or feeling of remorse but just want more and more done for them and it be free of cost to them, well who pays? all the rest of us thats who.

Please do all you can to help elect Mr. Romney so that we might have a chance of recovery and remember this, it is not illegal to make and have lots of money and the people that do have money are the only ones that can invest in industries that employ the working people.

P/S telltales, please just go away, there is no hope for someone like you with such a low capacity for learning, we forgive you

Mr. Blake, I have the right to vote and the privilige to vote for President Obama in November. The difference is that I was born at night, just not last night and I remember the mess President Bush put this country in. The economic gains are slow to recover but the country is moving in the right direction. You seem to have a selective memory so you need to go look at Bush's speech of the 24th of September of 2008 and read what Bush said about the economy.

How does Romney help this economy with his money piled in a Swiss bank account and money invested in the Cayman Islands and in a "blind" trust in an offshore account?

And as Sen. Kennedy said about Mitt Romney: "he is not pro-choice or pro-life, he is multiple choice on every issue."

Telltales, give us proof about his bank accounts. And speaking of Bush,Look what he got From Bill Clinton.

Clinton said that we had all kinds of money as a surplus, but when the books were look over when Bush went into office we were in the hole.In other words he Lied.Just like Obama is doing and Done 4yeas ago. What has he gave to the poor or middle class. What has he gave to the Military and Vets. What has he given to people on S.S..Well I will remind you,He put a Pay Freeze on them for two years.Do you remember that.Took your money and give it to the failing auto company's,And that was not due to them not selling cars,it was because of the unions.HOW CAN YOU PAY A UNION WORKER 40.00 AND HOUR AND EXPECT A MAN MAKING 6.00 TO 12.00 AND HOUR TO PAY FOR IT.AND OBAMA LOVE'S THEM UNIONS.
