Jimmy Webster, 78, of Hamlet passed away Friday, August 31, 2012 at his home. He was born to Pride Paul Webster and Ida Lee Leviner Webster on December 2, 1933 in Scotland County. Mr. Webster retired from Burlington Industries. Prior to working at Burlington, he enjoyed building boats with Tartan Marine Corporation. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing at Pamlico Sound.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 3, 2012 at 2pm in the chapel of Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet with Rev. June Grant and Rev. Frank McQuage officiating. Burial will follow in McDonald Cemetery in Laurel Hill.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Mathew Kent Boyette; a sister, Alma Hester; and brothers, Edgar, John, Paul and Alfred Webster.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia Gibson Webster of the home; children, Jimmy Franklin Webster, Jr., Shirley Webster Boyette and her husband, Larry, and Donald Eugene Webster and his wife, Kathi all of Hamlet; grandchildren, Amy Brooke Boyette, Terry Wade Webster, Jimmy Bradley Webster, and Robert Justin Webster; great grandchildren, Brianna and Amylynn Dodson, and Briar Boyette; a brother, Robert Webster of Hamlet; and sisters, Betty Shepard, Lois Honeycutt, and Jackie Rankin all of Rockingham.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 2, 2012 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Richmond County Hospice, 1119 N. US Highway 1, Rockingham, NC 28379.
