Ruby Louise McDonald, 71, of 207 Maner Road, Rockingham, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, in FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, in the McDonald Baptist Church with Revs. Jerry Smith and Darwin Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Louise was born in Charlotte on March 4, 1941, to the late Boyd and Lois Hale Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of McDonald Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy McDonald in 1997.

She is survived by a son, Jimmy D. McDonald, of Rockingham; two sisters, Linda Davis and Myrtle Teal both of Hamlet; mother-in-law, Otelia McDonald of Rockingham; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 3-4 p.m. at McDonald Baptist Church and other times at the home of her son, 117 Wiregrass Road, Rockingham.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Freedom Baptist Church Youth and Children’s Program, 987 US 1 North, Rockingham, NC 28379.

Russell-Marks Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting the family.
