MaryAnn Christine Sorenson and Phillip Daniel Corey, both of Castle Hayne, announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.
The bride-elect earned an A.S. in Esthetics Technology from Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Wayne Sorenson of Matthews. MaryAnn is the granddaughter of Merlin Leroy Sorenson and the late Mary Lou Sorenson, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Daniel Ennis Clark II.
The groom-elect earned a B.A. in Physical Education and Health from the University of North Carolina - Wilmington. He is currently employed as an Assistant Store Manager at Lowe’s Home Improvement. Daniel is the son of Rev. Terri Carriker Stratton of Fuquay Varina, formerly of Ellerbe, and Phillip Corey of Washington. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Carriker of Ellerbe, Mrs. Faye Corey and the late Mr. Charlie Corey of Washington and the great-grandson of Mrs. Alma Carriker of Ellerbe.
A wedding is planned for Oct. 5, 2012, in Wilmington.
