Six people arrested for illegal drugs

Six suspects have been arrested by deputies of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office in connection with illegal drugs, said Capt. J. K. Glidewell.

Members of the sheriff’s Vice/Narcotics Unit arrested two men near a business on Biltmore Drive, Rockingham, in connection with the sale of cocaine and marijuana.

During the arrests, deputies seized 30.6 grams of cocaine and 12.6 grams of marijuana and 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Jose Antonio Teran Castraneda, 34, Monroe, was arrested on two counts of felony trafficking in cocaine, conspiracy to traffick in cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to sell or deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to sell or deliver, selling and delivering both cocaine and marijuana and maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances.

His bond was set at $60,000.

Apito Malacara Sifuentes, 39, U.S. 74, Rockingham, was arrested on two counts of felony trafficking in cocaine, conspiracy to traffick in cocaine, possession of cocaine and marijuana with intent to sell and deliver, selling and delivering cocaine and marijuana and selling and delivering Schedule II controlled substances.

His bond was set at $60,000.

In another case, Charles Ray Nelson Jr., 34, Stokes Road, Rockingham, was arrested on felony charges of possession of marijuana with intent to sell or deliver, maintaining a place for controlled substances and selling and delivering marijuana.

His bond was set at $10,000. During the arrest, deputies seized 1,768.5 grams of marijuana.

The Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team was involved in the arrest.

Two men were arrested in an investigation of activities in East Rockingham by members of the Vice/Narcotics Unit.

William Craig Smith, 41, 2nd Street, Safie, Rockingham, was arrested on a felony charge of simple possession of cocaine and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $2,500.

Vander Ray Harding Jr., 25, 7th Avenue, Aleo, Rockingham, was arrested on a felony charge of possession of cocaine with intent to sell or deliver and two felony counts of selling and delivering cocaine. His bond was set at $2,000.

During the arrests, deputies seized 2.3 grams of cocaine.

Christopher Delshan Thompson, 21, Pinebluff, was arrested by deputies on two charges of malicious conduct by a suspect by spitting on two deputies, a stop sign violation, failure to carry a license, careless and reckless driving and possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.

His bond was set at $30,000.

A passenger in his vehicle was wanted in Moore County and turned over to the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.

In another case, Anthony Leveon Gould, 42, West Broad Avenue, Rockingham, was arrested on four felony counts of breaking and entering, four counts of larceny after breaking and entering and with being an habitual felon.

His bond was set at $25,000.

The charges are in connection with the theft of $12,565 worth of property from a house on Hamer Mill Road, Rockingham; $20 worth of medication from another house on Hamer Mill Road; $3,510 worth of property from a house on Lonnies Lane, Rockingham; and $150 worth of property from a house on Ellerbe Grove Church Road, Rockingham.

Jesse James Rodriquez, 19, Swinnie Street, Hamlet, as arrested on charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a concealed weapon, driving left of center, driving while impaired, provisional DWI and careless and reckless driving.

His bond was set at $25,000.

Incidents reported to the sheriff’s office include:

n At a residence on Wiregrass Road, Rockingham, someone stole a toolbox and tools valued at $2,000 off a truck.

n At a house on 6th Street, Safie, Rockingham, a suspect did $600 damage to the inside of a mobile home and stole a power meter valued at $250.

n A resident of Everetts Mill Road, Rockingham, told deputies someone used her identity to obtain a telephone account and charged $157.63 worth of services.

n At a residence on Airport Road, Rockingham, someone stole 75 prescription pills and $120 from a vehicle.

n A tool box valued at $20 and $30 worth of tools and $30 worth of gasoline were stolen from a vehicle parked at a house on Zion Church Road, Rockingham.

n At a house on South Street, Rockingham, someone pried open the front door and stole a television set valued at $1,100.

n Two doors of a house on Country Canyon Drive, Cordova, were kicked open causing $350 damage, and $1,260 worth of property was stolen.

n Two driveway markers valued at $160 were damaged at a house on Sandy Ridge Church Road, Ellerbe.

n A golf ball did $100 damage to a vehicle parked on Dawkins Street, Rockingham.

n Jewelry valued at $1,300 was stolen from a house on Ghio Road, Hamlet.

n Property valued at $330 was stolen from a house on West Eason Drive, Rockingham.

n Someone scratched a vehicle parked under a carport of a house on Airport Road, Rockingham, doing $800 damage.

n At a house on West Eason Drive, someone stole a $90 saw, $50 electric drill and $160 worth of fishing rods and reels.

n At a business on U.S. 1 North, Rockingham, someone did $1,000 damage to a truck and $2,500 damage to a golf cart.

n A door was pried open at a house on 7th Street, Cordova, causing $25 damage.

n A cable to a newspaper box on Main Street, Ellerbe, was cut causing $25 damage.

n At a residence on County Line Road, Norman, someone scratched a vehicle causing $1,000 damage.
