The 2009 Richmond Raider football banquet will take place on March 2 at the Richmond Senior High School cafeteria. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. The proceeds will help pay for the state championship rings.
Raider jerseys still available
There are only 12 gold and green Raider football jerseys for $20 still available. To purchase a jersey make checks payable to the RSHS athletic program. The proceeds will go to help pay for the state championship rings.

Basketball tournament to help
Lady Pirates AAU team
The Richmond Lady Pirates Girls AAU 16 and under basketball team is organizing an adult male basketball tournament on March 7. The entry fee is $65.00 per team and the entry deadline is March 2.
The format is double elimination tournament. All proceeds will go to help fund the Lady Pirates’ 2009 season.

Ellerbe taking baseball registrations
The town of Ellerbe is now accepting registrations for baseball until March 20.
The cost is $30 and per child.
The leagues offered are: 4-5 T-Ball, 6-8 Pitching Machine, 9-10 Baseball, 11-12 Baseball.
The town will also offer softball and coaches for all leagues are needed.
Registrations can be dropped off at the town offices from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call 652-6251 for more information.
Rockingham accepting
spring sports registrations
The City of Rockingham Parks and Recreation is accepting registrations for baseball and softball through March 2.
The fee for city residents is $35 and $45 for non-city residents. Participants must be 5-years-old and can not turn 15 on or before April 30 for baseball and 17 on or before Jan. 1 for softball.
The leagues are: 5-6 Shetland, 7-8 Pinto, 9-10 Mustang, 11-12 Bronco, 13-14 Pony.
New players must have a copy of their birth certificate at the time of registration. Call 895-6810 for more information.
Hamlet baseball signups under way
The City of Hamlet is accepting baseball registrations until March 20. Late registration will be from March 23-27.
The cost is $30 per child and a late fee of $10 will be charged per child during the late registration period.
Participants must be 5-years-old and can not turn 16 by April 30.
The leagues will be: 5-6 Rookie Pitching Machine; 7-8 Cal Ripken Pitching Machine; 9-10 Cal Ripken League; 11-12 Cal Ripken League; and 13-15 Babe Ruth League.
Registration will be at Hamlet City Hall from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on the above dates.
