Roger E. Spivey, Sr. 58, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at his home. He was born May 15, 1954 in Richmond County a son of the late, Glenn Bradley and Ruby McLamb Spivey. Roger worked as an Assistant Manager with Winn Dixie for many years and was also a volunteer firefighter.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet. Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Brad and Henry Spivey.
Surviving are his children, Heather Spivey Helms of Marston, Roger Spivey, Jr. of the home, Christopher Spivey of LeMoore, CA, and Billy Braden of Rockingham; 14 grandchildren, Jessaka, 21 (Elton), Eraka, 18, C.J., 12, Cameron, 14, Dylan, 11, Hannah, 9, Germany, 6, Gage, 6, Kristofer, 12, Chance, Briannah Lynne, 6, David Jayden, 5, and KatiLynne, 1; and five sisters, Glenda Eubanks, of Hamlet, Debra Corn of Cedar Mountain, NC, Marcie Logan of Benson, NC, Myra Barefoot of Benson, NC and Wanda Shank of Knotts Island, NC.
Watson-King Funeral Home of Hamlet is serving the family.
