A deputy picked up Dennis James Little Jr., 23, South Grove Avenue, Rockingham, on an outstanding warrant against him on 1st Street Safie, Aleo, Rockingham.
While he was being processed at the magistrate’s office, the deputy asked Little if he had any drugs.
That’s when the marijuana in a bag was found.
Little was then arrested on felony charges of possession of marijuana with intent to sell or deliver and maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances.

Incidents reported to the Rockingham Police Department include:
n Joevon Ellis Clark, 25, N. C. 177 South, Hamlet, was arrested on felony charges of possession of cocaine and maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances.
His bond was set at $5,000. He was also cited for driving while license revoked and a seat belt violation.
During the arrest, police seized 1.3 grams of cocaine, a vehicle valued at $2,000 and $295.
n Steven Lane Inman, 18, County Home Road, Rockingham, was issued a citation for shoplifting. The charge involved theft of a $67.76 DVD system from a store at Falling Creek Plaza Shopping Center, Rockingham.
n Kasey Wynne Woodle, 26, Lexington, was issued a citation on charges of simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
n Johnathon Bruce Vanmater, 27, Arizona, was issued a citation on a charge of simple possession of marijuana.
n Deirdre Kimmocchee Holmes, 31, Wadesboro, was arrested on an order for arrest on a charge of driving while license revoked. Bond was set at $1,500.
n A Cordova resident told police someone forged and cashed her unemployment check at a bank in Rockingham.
n A cement block was used to do $800 worth of damage to a vehicle parked at a house on South Long Drive, Rockingham.

n At Tall Pines Apartments, Hamlet, someone stole $30 worth of property from an apartment.
n Someone broke into a business on Hamlet Avenue, Hamlet, and stole $2,279 worth of property.
n At a house on Aberdeen Street, Hamlet, someone broke in causing $30 damage and stole $200 worth of property.
n At a house on McDonald Avenue, Hamlet, someone stole $82 worth of property.
n Gregory Locklear, 46, Hamlet Avenue, Hamlet, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of second-degree trespassing.
n A 42-inch television set valued at $1,300 was damaged in an incident at a house on Thomas Street, Hamlet.
n Tyran Markith Wortham, 21, Buttercup Drive, Hamlet, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of assault on a female. He was held in Richmond County Jail until bond was set by a judge.
n Shanice Rena Crowder, 19, McArthur Drive, Rockingham, was arrested on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge. She was held in Richmond County Jail until bond was set by a judge.
n Gasoline valued at $38 was stolen from a store on East Broad Avenue, Rockingham.
