Mrs. Minnie Lou Grant Barber, 85, formerly of South St., Rockingham died Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Rockingham Manor. She was born January 20, 1927 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late A. W. Grant and Elizabeth Dawkins Grant.

Mrs. Barber was member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and was the owner and operator of Minnie Lou’s Beauty Shop for many years.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Barber will be conducted 12:00 pm Wednesday, August 15th at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Corey Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Surviving are her sons, Richard B. Barber, Jr. and wife Beverly of Rockingham, Sidney Curtis Barber of Sanford, and Robert Wayne Barber and wife Pam of Rockingham; three grandchildren, Dana Sauls, Will Barber, and Ben Barber; four great grandchildren; and two brothers, Nathan Grant and John Thomas Grant, both of Rockingham. Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Barber, Sr. in 1984, and six brothers and one sister.
