Mrs. Helen Wyona Berckman McKenzie, 85, of 162 Gibson Drive, Rockingham, died, Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Penick Village, Southern Pines.
She was born in Cumberland County, February 11, 1927, daughter of Frances Charles Berckman and Evelyn Corrina Trogdon Berckman.
Mrs. McKenzie was a member of the East Rockingham United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at East Rockingham United Methodist Church, from 12:45 until 1:45 pm with the Funeral beginning at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Pat Sykes and Rev. Sonny Diggs officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband, Allison “Keith” McKenzie, Sr. of Penick Village, Southern Pines; daughter, Kay McKenzie Davis and husband Greg of Ellerbe; son, Allison Keith McKenzie, Jr. and wife Vicki of Castle Haynes, NC; grandchildren, Molly M. Kittinger of Calabash, Jillian M. Kniffen of The Woodlands, Texas, Nikki DeMers of Healy, Alaska, Mandy Davis of Rockingham and Kaiti Davis of Boone, NC; great-grandchildren, Drew, Kate, Hunter, Avery, Evan, Pete, Sydney and one due in September; sister-in-law, Joyce Smith of Rockingham; nephew, Charles Barbee; and niece, LuAnn Craven.
Memorials may be made in Mrs. McKenzie’s memory to: East Rockingham United Methodist Church Building Fund, 490 Mill Road, Rockingham, NC 28379.
