A Laurinburg man came to Rockingham to get a television set and computer from a rent-to-buy store and ended up a police suspect.

Michael Anthony Goldwire, 51, Laurinburg, was arrested on a felony charge of obtaining property by false pretense.

He had obtained $1,499.99 worth of property from a store on East Broad Avenue, Rockingham.

When the store checked the personal information they were provided by Goldwire, it was reported to police as being false.

Other arrests by Rockingham police include:

n Charles Glenn Lentz, 45, Rockingham, was arrested on warrant for failure to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge of driving while license revoked. Bond was set at $500.

n Daniel Boone Call Jr., 30, 4th Avenue, Pee Dee, Rockingham, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in court on multiple charges. Bond was set at $3,000.

n Bryan Eugene Miller, 21, Everett Street, Rockingham, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.

n Rusty Shane Roberts, 19, U.S. 1 South, Rockingham, was issued citations for simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Incidents reported to Rockingham police include:

n Someone broke a bedroom window at a house on Shannon Drive, Rockingham, causing $100 damage.

n A house on Armstead Street, Rockingham, was shot with pellets believed from a BB gun causing $100 damage to a door and $280 damage to windows.

n A suspect hid a $69.99 hair dryer in his jacket and ran from a store on East Broad Avenue, Rockingham, and got into a car with two other men and they drove off.

n A woman in a residence on Cauthen Drive, Rockingham, was punched in her right eye by a suspect who then stole $170 from her.

n On Scotch Lane, Rockingham, someone broke into a house and did $200 damage to a television set, $30 damage to a lipstick and stole a $20 driver’s license.

Incidents reported to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office include:

n At a house on County Home Road, Rockingham, someone stole 70 tablets of prescription medications valued at $350.

n A motorcycle was stolen from a residence on Rabbit Hare Avenue, Hamlet, and later recovered with $2,000 damage.

n A pitching machine valued at $800 was stolen from property on Ballard Street, Ellerbe.

n Someone did $50 damage to the exterior wall of a residence on Baldwin Road, Ellerbe.
