Dana T. Melton, 66, of Pinebluff, passed away on Aug. 3, 2012, at her residence.

A visitation will be held at Boles Funeral Home, 425 W. Pennsylvania Avenue, Southern Pines, on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Samaritan Colony, 136 Samaritan Drive, Rockingham. A visitation prior to services from 1 to 2 p.m. in Samaritan Colony Chapel. Interment Private.

Dana was born on Sept. 13, 1945, in Pinehurst to the late Sam and Edna Tyson.

She is survived by her husband David R. Melton; one son, Benjamin T. Kearns of Aberdeen; one grandson; one brother, Dennis Tyson of Travelers Rest, S.C.; two step-brothers, Tommy Cassidy and Billy Bullard; two step-sisters, Barbara Edwards and Linda Lowery; and many other family members and friends.
