Deputies of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office have been notified that three field fires in the county are believed to have been deliberately set, said Capt. J. K. Glidewell.
On Derby Road and McBride Road a field fire caused the loss of 20 bales of hay worth $2,000.
Field fires were also reported on Patterson Road in Derby and on Old Gibson Road in Hamlet.

Other incidents reported to the sheriff’s office include:
n At a residence on County Home Road, Rockingham, someone stole a stump grinder valued at $1,000 on a trailer valued at $500.
n Window panes at a house on Old Cheraw Highway, Hamlet, were broken causing $400 damage.
n Jewelry valued at $335 was stolen from a house on Ford Hill Road, Rockingham.
n Someone stole a $229 drill, $299 saw and $599 transit from a vehicle parked at a residence on Broad Street, Hamlet.
n A resident on Rosalyn Road, Cordova, said a check for $136.67 was forged and cashed on a bank account without permission.
n A television set valued at $200 was stolen from a vehicle parked on Armstead Street, Rockingham.
n A computer valued at $1,200 was stolen from a house on Freeman Mill Road, Hamlet.
n Flowers valued at $40 were stolen from a church grave site on County Home Road, Rockingham.

Incidents reported to the Rockingham Police Department include:
n Annie Locklear Coble, 30, Broadway Street, Rockingham, was arrested on three misdemeanor charges of worthless check. She was released on a written promise to appear in court.
n Randy Armstead Spencer, 24, Malloy Street, Hamlet, was issued a citation on a charge of simple possession of marijuana.
n At an apartment on Ann Street, Rockingham, someone did $200 damage to a door.
n Crystal Key Andre, 27, School Street, Rockingham, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of shoplifting. She was released on a written promise to appear in court.
n Heather Suzanne Weatherford, 28, 2nd Avenue, Aleo, Rockingham, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of shoplifting. She was released on a written promise to appear in court.
n Gasoline valued at $40.03 was stolen from a store on East Broad Avenue, Rockingham.
n At a residence on Shannon Drive, Rockingham, someone did $100 damage to a window.
