Ruth Quick Lammonds Threadgill, 77, of Hamlet, died Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Richmond Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Joy Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor June Grant officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Joy Free Will Baptist Church.
A lifelong resident of Richmond County, Ruth was born on Nov. 23, 1934, to the late Edmond and Rosie Berry Quick. She was a member of Joy Free Will Baptist Church and attended Maple Street Free Will Baptist Church. Prior to her retirement she was a Cafeteria Manager with the Richmond County School System.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Bill Lammonds; two daughters, Donna R. Lammonds and Betty Jo Lammonds Goodyear; a grandson, Billy Joe Sweeney; and a brother, Edward Quick.
She is survived by her husband, Jasper Threadgill; two sons, Billy Lammonds and Billy Lammonds Jr., both of Hamlet; two daughters, Wanda L. Norton and Roseanna Lammonds, both of Hamlet; four sisters, Beatrice Bowman and Alice Quick, both of Rockingham, Minnie Thompson of Hamlet, Doris Quick of Aberdeen; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
