A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Richmond and surrounding counties. A severe thunderstorm is moving east at 20 mph. Hazards including quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 58 mph have been listed.
Straight line winds can blow down trees and power lines, as well as damage mobile homes and other buildings. Seek shelter in a sturdy structure until the storm has passed. Stay away from windows and flying debris.
The severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 4:30 p.m., and a severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 10 p.m.
