Dear Editor,

This country of ours is very dear to me and all true Americans.

My fellow Marines, Soldiers, and Sailors, at different times have fought and died all over this world to make this country a safe place. This country and our beliefs are based on Judaism and Christianity. We allow all beliefs to come to our country and live in peace.

At this time in our world’s history, that is changing, and not for the good of all people. What is taking place in this country is a shame. As we all know, most of the convenience stores and motels have been bought up by people from outside of this country.

I have no problem with these people as a whole. Where my problem comes in is the way that they are treating our Military in uniform.

Don’t take my word for it, just take the time as I did to look it up online. In different areas of the country, if they go into a store in uniform, the store owners will refuse to wait on them.

It is taking place right here in Richmond Co. A friend came in, in the past few days, to tell me the story of his encounter with such a store owner. Just because he had on his Marine hat and shirt with the Marine logo on it, the owner refused to sell him gas.

I am a former Marine. I know the blood and sweat that it takes to be called a Marine and wear that uniform in pride of my country and my people … my people being either black, white or brown skinned.

If you don’t want to do business with my people in or out of uniform, then don’t. Just go back to the goat farm that you came from. Live in fear of your government, live with no human rights. Live with the fear of the thought that the government might come one night and take you and your family away never to be seen again. You have been allowed to come to my America to live in peace with your fellow man.

Do not take this lightly, there are other stores and motels that we can go to. We will not do business with you, we will turn you away and send you back to the hell that you came from.

Show my people the respect that they and you deserve.

We are all in this together we can make it a better world. Show respect and get it back ten times over. Disrespect us and we will show you the road home.

This is our America.

You know, I have a little trouble believing this did in fact happen, and I`ll tell you why, I deal with most of these Indian merchants quite often and find them to be very accomodating and very dedicated to their business and don`t think that they would insult anyone, especially a member of our armed forces, also if you will check you will find that you never see their names in the local court news, in fact about the only time you see their name in the Journal it will be one of their children excelling in academics or being named validictorian or some other scholastic honor.

The Indian people are good citizens and capable merchants and would not risk the chance to do business just because they don`t like our military.

I think this is just a vicious rumor and until I see more evidence I will not attack them.

I know Mr. Lee personally and don`t think he would treat anyone badly, but if he thought you had insulted a member of our armed forces he would go after your "Grass".

I did not say Indian,I can prove to you it did in fact happen.

It's not a rumor,I would love for you to meet

one of the men that it did happen to.

Yes I did say one of the men because it happened to more than one.

I also did not say that anyone should be attacked.

I am having a problem, with some of you,and I can not get it across to you. It has nothing to do with anything other than,

RESPECT,RESPECT,RESPECT,and yes in this case it was one of my MARINE'S,that was not shown,RESPECT.

Please, anyone that thinks that this is a rumor, just come by my shop and I will show you that it is taking place all over this country.

I will say it again,I did not say Indian people did this.

"you need look no further than your bathroom mirror."

Just wondering, is this how some of the users get their username?

Excluding "f16norton", You horrendously ignorant simpletons. "no problem with any race", What profound hypocrites. It's as clear as the wording in your letter, you wear your badges of intolerance, bigotry and racism on your shirt sleeve. You are intellectually deficient clowns who are impervious to factual information and rational thought. To see many of the real problems that exist in this country, you need look no further than your bathroom mirror. "This is our America", them, those, ours, theirs..........oh sure Mr. Lee, you have no problem with any race........Riiight.

To yruatwit, you believe what you want to.I have no control over you or anyone else.

I know what I have in my heart, and I do have friends in all races.

"This is our America" This is true, it is our America. America belong's to all of us, all of us from all around this world.

This letter was all about respect and nothing else. But you have tryed to make it more with your words than it was ever ment to be.

As I said just go on line and find out for yourself.

Intolerance,I don't think so we are very tolerant of all people.

You and f16norton have tryed to make this more radical than it is.

But once again you believe what you will.

Both of you take the time to come by my shop and talk to me. Man to man, it's that easy.

yruatwit,I took the time to re-read my own letter, several times.I do not see it as you do,and that's fine also. You can comment as you see fit,but you can't read my mind.

But you do have the right,to voice it as you see it,but you are wrong in this case.

I will say it again, until you and others understand me and my words.

Respect, Respect, Respect, give it and get it back.

Why does racism have to come into it at all.

I am tired of people playing the race card,it does not have to be that way.

Live together in peace, and show the respect that I am trying to get across to all people.

Race, creed, and color has nothing to do with this at all.

The invite is still open, don't close the door.

Have a open mind and open eye's,for I have something on line that I want to show you.

You took the time to write your comment's,take the time to come by my shop.

Gee,who licked the red off your lollie pop? Why are you so anrgy? I took the time to read Mr. Lee's letter and your comments. Mr. Lee was very calm in his manner and words you on the other hand were very angry and slanderus. You tried to make Mr. Lee look like a bigot and racist. This is so far from the truth, I have been in his shop several times and he has always been kind and conciderate to all of his customers reguardless of their color. You need to take the time to get to know someone, before you come dowm so hard. I understand what Mr. Lee was saying in his letter, it was about nothing more than showing respect to each other. This letter is replying to yruatwit.

The Editor of the Journal probably would not print the name of the individual that refused to sell nor the name of the store in order to protect someone from being sued .If our goverment would stop trying to control the world and bring our troops home a lot of the hate would stop.Remember, every nation in the world is assembled in America but where you originated at is still your home also, other relatives are still there. We are all Americans but do we all belong in America? In our world today no matter how a person lives he is preached stright into Heaven, especially movie stars and politicians.Do we all belong in America?Ask the first Indian killed by a Christin Catholic?

I myself do not do business with any of these arab/hindu/indian (not Native American Indians) owned stores or establishments. I have and will continue to drive the extra mile(s) and spend the extra money to trade with an American owned establishment. I think the county/country would be a better place if everyone would do the same. I would love to put my name but I do not want a suicide bomber at my door in the morning. I love this letter to the editor. God Bless America. Semper Fi

There is a lot more to this story,if you would take the time to do as I asked all people to do,just go on line and find out for yourself.

Don't take my word for anything, you look into it.

No I did not name the store,as I do not want to make problems for anyone,I just want them to treat all of us with respect.

You need to go back and re-read the letter,as I did not say anything about these people that would be seen as dis-respectful of them as a whole.

I did not want to get into a pissing match with anybody.

Once again, this as you have put it,has nothing to do with you comment (hyperbole)

I have no problem with any race as you should have seen in my letter, it is all about respect.

But I do have to say that you have no true idea of the hate that some of the country's around the world have for us as Americans, and yes there are people out there that that would not do business

with you because of what is written on a shirt
