A Raeford man has been arrested in connection with the severe beating of a
man fishing at Hamlet
City Lake in September 2008.
Henry Christopher Lloyd, 23, of Raeford was charged with common law robbery and assault inflicting serious bodily injury.
His bond was set at $25,000.
Capt. Bob Steele of the Hamlet Police Department said Lloyd and three
other suspects were
allegedly following three men fishing at Hamlet City Lake
on Sept. 8.
He said when one of the men refused to give
Lloyd an illegal tattoo, he allegedly struck the first man
he came to in the
face knocking him out and to the ground.
While the victim was out on the ground, Steele said the suspects stripped his
clothes off, took some of his personal belongings,
threw his fishing pole in the lake and left him on the ground naked.
The victim was flown to a hospital in Charlotte for reconstructive surgery, Steele said.
Police have issued warrants on the other suspects.
