Richmond County deputies arrest two on drug charges

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with illegal drugs by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Unit and Special Response Team, Capt. J. K. Glidewell said.

Investigating illegal activity on Stokes Road, Charles Thomas Bloomfield, 23, was arrested on charges involving marijuana. During the arrest, deputies seized 1,808 grams of marijuana.

He was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell or deliver and maintaining a place for controlled substances. His bond was set at $25,000.

In the other case, Percy Gleen Robinson, 29, Lavora Lane, Hamlet, was arrested on felony charge of possession of cocaine and misdemeanor resisting a public officer. His bond was set at $10,000.

During the arrest, deputies seized 13 crack rocks.

Members of the sheriff’s special units were investigating illegal drug activity in the Dobbins Heights area. Glidewell said Robinson ran but was caught after a brief struggle with deputies.

Other arrests by sheriff’s detectives include:

n Antwan Delvincio Morrison, 27, Ellen Road, Rockingham, was arrested on a felony charge of larceny of a motor vehicle. He was also arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge. Bond was set at $5,500.

n Willie Mitchell Huckabee, 35, Ridgeview Drive, Hamlet, was arrested on a felony charge of larceny. The charge is in connection with the theft of a $3,000 welder and $1,000 trailer from a construction site on Development Drive, Hamlet/

Incidents reported to the sheriff’s office include:

n Mobile home vinyl underpinning valued at $1,500 was stolen from property on August Lane, Hamlet.

n Someone slashed four tires on a vehicle parked on 5th Street, Hamlet, causing $550 damage.

n At a residence on Louis Breeden Boulevard, Hamlet, someone did $200 damage to a door and stole a $1,500 television set.

n While parked in a yard of a residence on Sandhill Road, Rockingham, someone did $1,000 damage to a vehicle by scratching it.

n Deputies are investigating a suspicious fire at property on Wiregrass Road, Rockingham, where $6,000 damage was done to a truck.

n On Rogosin Street, Rockingham, someone did $1,200 damage to a vehicle and stole $175 worth of property.

n The two rear tires of a vehicle parked on Sanford Street, Hamlet, was stabbed with a sharp object causing $300 damage.

n Someone broke into a vehicle on Windsor Drive, Rockingham, doing $5 damage and stealing $880 worth of property.

Incidents reported to the Rockingham Police Department include:

n A store on East Broad Avenue, Rockingham, was the victim of a credit card fraud in the amount of $305.85.

n On North Randolph Street, Rockingham, someone did $20 damage to a padlock on a storage building and stole $20 worth of property.

n Stephanie Carpenter Duncan, 43, Armstead Street, Rockingham, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of violation of the school attendance law. Bond was set at $500.

n Beer valued at $13.99 was stolen from a convenience store on Fayetteville Road.

n A catalytic converter valued at $300 was stolen from a vehicle on a sales lot on Fayetteville Road, Rockingham.

n Dorothy Evon Wall, 25, Ann Street, Rockingham, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in court on misdemeanor charges of driving while license revoked and failing to use a seat belt. Bond was set at $500.

n Two women were issued citations for misdemeanor larceny involving the theft of an $80 rocking chair from a business on East Washington Street, Rockingham. Police recovered the chair and charged Heather Renee Collins, 28, Pecan Drive, Rockngham and Amy Lee Parker, 27, Garrett Street, Rockingham, both with misdemeanor larceny.

n A camera valued at $110 was stolen from a pawn shop on East Broad Avenue.

n A Rockingham woman’s identity was used to obtain cable television and left a $112.60 bill unpaid.

n Arrest reports published in the Richmond County Daily Journal are copied from local law enforcement records. Except for people injured in motor vehicle accidents or reportable deaths, victims including people, businesses and institutions and their addresses are not included as a matter of newspaper policy. Reports include both arrests and criminal summons such as citations. The Daily Journal lists them all as arrests. People charged are presumed innocent until determined to be guilty by a court of law.
