Weston Wilson, 14, of Rockingham, earned Eagle Scout status on April 16.

He is the son of Steven and Dana Wilson, a student at Richmond Early College, a member of the Beta Club, pianist at Rockingham Church of God and member of Ignite Band.

Wilson completed his Eagle Service Project at Sandhills Children’s Center. For the project, he conducted music classes for special needs children, and raised more than $2,000 for musical instruments for the center.

The Eagle ceremony was held at Rockingham Church of God on July 8.

Eagle Scout is the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America organization; 21 merit badges are required to become an Eagle. Wilson has earned 35 merit badges.
