This week I could not believe that a lady and her daughter set up a nonprofit website and collected in an excess of a million dollars reportedly to help veterans but really a rip off of the people who wanted to support veterans.

AMVETS Post 316 represents Scotland, Anson and Richmond counties. We need funds to operate this van to take patients to the VA Medical Center, Fayetteville and to the local VA Clinic. We are requesting donations to help pay for gas and maintenance of this van. You can call Post Commander Dennis Holloway at 895-9378 or Ed O’Neal at 582-5825. AMVETS Post 316 meets at the East Rockingham Fire Dept on the last Tuesday of the month. If you would like to come to a meeting, we serve a meal at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7 p.m. Please come out and attend these meetings as a supporter of veterans.

The Wounded Warrior Project supported by many on TV is a good project. They are supportive of amputees and PTSD veterans, unless you are at Walter Reed Hospital or Ft. Sam Houston, Tx. I am trying to work with them now to get support for this 3 county area for the PTSD and severely handicapped veterans.
