Rockingham High School graduates of the class of 1947 celebrated their 65th class reunion on June 28, 2012, at Pat’s Kitchen in Rockingham.
There were 13 classmates in attendance along with spouses and friends from Rockingham High School upper and lower classes.
“Growing up during WWII, all of the class realized, at an early age, the value of good friends, and just how quickly a dear one can depart this life,” said Ann Webb, a member of the class.
Until her death on Sept. 24, 2007, classmate Dot R. Bostick saw to it that this particular class remained close and kept the bond of friendship alive and active by planning events to keep them together, Webb said.
Since then, Webb said the class has continued to meet for lunch three times a year.
“All members are now in their 80s, but some come from as far as Winston-Salem, Raleigh, Lumberton, Charlotte and Camden to have lunch and fellowship with this special group of friends,” Webb said.
