The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the fifth suspect in a robbery that occurred recently at Richmond Village apartments.
Police have issued warrants for 19 year old Napoleon Ellerbe for his involvement in the robbery, in which four others were arrested on July 3 and 4.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Damond Aukeze Short, 18, Washington Avenue, Hamlet, Travonne Deron Jones, Page Street, Hamlet, Justin Jamar Riley, 20, Mizpah Road, Rockingham, and Tyree Antwan Riley, 21, Washington Avenue, Hamlet, have been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, first degree kidnapping and felony larceny after they allegedly went into an apartment at Richmond Village and stole a TV, video games and assorted clothing and jewelry from the two males living there.
The four men were placed in the Richmond County Jail under a $50,000 secure bond.
The Sheriff’s Office is still searching for Ellerbe, identified as a 19 year old black male, whose last known address is Ellen Drive in Hamlet. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers.
Other recent arrests made by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office include:
• Wilson Lee Smith, 53, Patterson Road, Rockingham, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. The Sheriff’s Office arrested Smith on July 8 for allegedly stabbing the victim while having an argument on Patterson Road. The victim was later transported to Moore County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Smith was placed in Richmond County Jail under a $10,000 secure bond.
• Tyrone Davis, 35, of Louis Breeden Boulevard, Hamlet, was arrested and charged with selling/delivering cocaine. The Sheriff’s Office arrested Davis on July 2 for allegedly selling cocaine to officers. Davis was placed in Richmond County Jail under a $5,000 secure bond.
• Edward Keith Murphy, 38, 5 Points Trailer Park, Rockingham, was arrested for manufacturing marijuana. Murphy was arrested on July 2 for allegedly growing four marijuana plants in his yard. Murphy was placed in Richmond County Jail under a $500 bond.
• Joseph Swies, 30, Beeler Avenue, Hamlet, was arrested on three counts of selling/delivering cocaine and one count of selling/delivering schedule II pills. The Sheriff’s Office arrested Swies on July 2 after purchasing cocaine and methadone pills from him on different occasions. Swies was placed in Richmond County Jail under a $20,000 secure bond.
• Tommy Brian Kempen, 38, 2nd Ave. Aleo, Rockingham, was arrested for assault with serious bodily injury, assault by strangulation, assault on a female and kidnapping. The Sheriff’s Office arrested Kempen on July 1 for allegedly holding his girlfriend and preventing her from leaving and while doing so he strangled her and hit and kicked her, causing injuries requiring her to seek hospital treatment. Kempen was placed in Richmond County Jail. No bond was issued.
• James Calvin Patrick Jr., 35, Valley Hill Drive, Rockingham, was arrested for obtaining property by false pretenses, possession of stolen property, misdemeanor larceny and failure to appear. The Sheriff’s Office arrested Patrick on June 20, 2012, for allegedly stealing a flat screen TV from a house on Forest Drive in Rockingham and later pawning it at a local pawnshop. Patrick was placed in Richmond County Jail under a $4,500 secure bond.
• Kenneth Gene Smith, 50, Perry Leviner Road, Rockingham, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. Lawmen said Smith was arrested on June 22 for allegedly cutting the victim after an argument at a residence on Ivy Trail in Rockingham. The victim was treated at a local hospital and released. Smith was placed in Richmond County Jail under a $5,000 secure bond.
• Donnie Lee Parker, 35, Park Street, Rockingham, was arrested for misdemeanor larceny and obtaining property by false pretenses. The Sheriff’s Office arrested Parker on July 8 for the larceny of a lawn mower and U.S. currency stolen from a residence on Park Street on June 15. Lawmen said Parker later pawned the lawnmower. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.
• Gregory Harrison, 35, of Hoffman, was arrested for fugitive from justice. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Harrison was fingerprinted on July 6 after he was arrested by another agency and placed in Richmond County Jail. Harrison had been put in jail under the name “John Doe” because he had refused to give any information, police said. When his prints returned, it was found he was wanted in Pennsylvania. The Sheriff’s Office said Harrison is being held without bond until he is extradited.
• Adrian Jordan Honeycutt, 19, Fairfield Drive, Rockingham, was arrested for obtaining property by false pretenses and misdemeanor possession of stolen property. The Sheriff’s Office arrested Honeycutt on July 6 for allegedly selling stolen chicken house fans at a local scrap yard. Honeycutt was charged with possession of the stolen fans and selling them without permission. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.
Arrest reports published in the Richmond County Daily Journal are copied from local law enforcement records. Reports include both arrests and criminal summons such as citations. The Daily Journal lists them all as arrests. People charged are presumed innocent until determined to be guilty by a court of law.
