RICHMOND CO. DUCKS UNLIMITED FUN SHOOT will be held at DeWitt’s Outdoor Sports, Ellerbe. 2ND ANNUAL CORDOVA SCHOOL 5K WALK/RUN to benefit the children of Cordova School (formerly Roberdel Children’s Center), will be held at 8 a.m. at 194 Church St., Cordova. Everyone that enjoys to compete, run, walk or just support a great cause is invited. Awards for overall top finishers and top finishers will be given in each age group.

EAT HEALTHY BE ACTIVE WEIGHT LOSS WORKSHOP will be held from June 24 through August 12. An eight-week class will be held each Monday night from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Ag Services Center/Extension office, 123 Caroline Street, Rockingham. Your non-refundable $25 registration fee ensures a place in the class; $10 returned to participant if personal goals are met. FAMILY FUN DAY will be held on Main Street, Hamlet, starting 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 4. Music will be presented by The Extraordinares. There will be a water slide, dunking booth, corn hole, tricycle race, the “Duck Express” train, watermelon eating contest, clowns and food vendors. Tours of the historical Railroad Museum and Depot will be available. Pack your lawn chair and enjoy the firework show beginning at 9 p.m.
