Boggs Paving is back at work on some sections of U.S. 1 between Rockingham and Wiregrass Road. The hill just north of Rockingham in front of the Dollar General store is being lowered for better visibility on the highway. Paving is being done at another location along the improvement of the roadway to four lanes, divided. Sidewalks are also included in the project. Work had been slowed on the widening because it was ahead of schedule and funds allocated for fiscal year 2008 to 2009 had been used.
