Gary Allen Smith, 75, of 207 Richardson Road, Ellerbe, died Friday, June 26 , 2012, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at Mt Pleasant United Methodist Church in Ellerbe conducted by Rev. Elizabeth Polk. Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery.
The family will receive friends following services.
Mr. Smith was born Jan. 30, 1937, in Baltimore, Md., a son of C. Clem and Hessie Baucom Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Harford and Haines Smith; and a sister, Wanda Smith; and wives Margaret Peggy Smith and Frances Kay Taylor Smith.
He is survived by a son, Anthony “Tony” Smith of Bradenton, Fla.; and a daughter, Tammy Smith, also of Fla.; sisters, Wilma Sweet of Ellerbe and Irma Appleton of Fla. Also surviving are three grandchildren.
Carter Funeral Home is serving the family.
