Floyd Michael Burns, 62, of 121 McRae Drive, Hamlet, died Monday, July 2, 2012, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 5, at Outreach For Jesus at 11 a.m. with a funeral service following at 12 p.m. with Bishop Marvin Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park.

At other times, the family will be at the home of Mr. Burn’s son, Sammy, at 504 Love Lane, Rockingham.

Mr. Burns was born Sept. 11, 1949, in Richmond County, son of James Cecil Burns and Ilah Demarce Humphries Burns. He was a member of the Church of Christ where he attended as a child and later attended Outreach For Jesus.

He is preceded in death by his late parents; five brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnne Odom Burns of the home; daughter, Kimberly Burns Gibson of Ellerbe; son, Samuel “Sammy” Lee Burns of Rockingham; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Burns’ memory to the Humane Society of Richmond County, 529 W. US Highway 74, Rockingham, NC 28379.
