Joseph Rexall Kester, 47, of 141 Midway Road, Rockingham, died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham conducted by Rev. David Parrish.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Mr. Kester was born Dec. 14, 1964, in Richmond County, a son of Joseph Rexall Kester Sr. and Alice Lenora McCaskill Kester. He was employed as an Emergency Medical Technician with Braveheart MedicalTransport of Laurinburg. Joe was a longtime member and Lieutenant on the Richmond County Rescue Squad. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Melissa Jane Kester.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Annette Smith Kester of the home; a daughter, Victoria (Tori) Lenora Kester of the home; and a younger brother, John I. Kester Sr. of Rockingham.
