Hellon Garris Mudd, 83,of 1702 Park Avenue, Rockingham, died Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Rockingham Manor.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 30, at Roberdel Baptist Church, from 2 to 3 p.m. with the memorial service starting at 3 p.m. with Rev. Bob Carpenter and Rev. Gregory Minnick officiating. Burial will follow at a later date.
Mrs. Mudd was born Aug. 21, 1928, in Richmond County, daughter of Milton Garris and Ruth Crouch Garris. She was a member of Roberdel Methodist Church and was previously self employed as a seamstress.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her late husband, Archie Anderson Mudd; a grandchild, Nancy Dunn and a great-grandchild, Landon White.
Survivors are her daughters, Beth Dunn and Barbara Orr, both of Rockingham and Millie Jones of Benson; sons, Andy Mudd of Laurinburg and Doug Mudd of Smithfield; brothers, Bob Garris of Ft. Worth, Texas, Jerry Garris of Rockingham and Abner Garris of Ellerbe; sisters, Rae Clayton Morgan of Hamlet, Jean Griggs, Libby Taylor and Nancy White, all of Rockingham; twelve grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bear Branch Cemetery, cfo Kenny Bostick, 1320 Carolina Drive, Rockingham, NC 28379.
