A fund-raising event will take the form of a biker rally at the Rockingham Dragway on U.S. Highway 1, across from the Rockingham Speedway, at the end of next week.
This Rally@Rock will have four fun filled days of motorcycle track racing, stunt shows, concerts, car/bike shows, charity events, grills, networking, various vending and much more.
Cost of the four-day event: $25 in motorcycle club colors, $30 without colors. Children ages 13 and younger are free when accompanied by an adult. The fun begins July 5 and ends July 8.
“Motorcycle clubs from all over the Eastern Seaboard are coming together to put on a premier event,” said Event Organizer Angelia “Mysterious” Edwards.
President of East Coast Biker Association Buck Williams said, “This rally is our second year in existence. Last year’s attendance (5,000) was good. This year we revamped things; added nightly entertainment and stunt shows and the response has been excellent.”
CEO of East Coast Biker Association Glenn Edwards said, “We’ve added female racers Gloria Mitchell a.k.a. Wonder Woman and Charity Dickerson a.k.a. Baby Gurl. Nightly Concerts from southern circuit July 6th, The Love Dr., performing award winning ‘Slow Roll It and Stroke it with Emotion,’ Pat Cooley’s ‘Older Woman Younger Man,’ and Sir Jonathan Burton with ‘Too Much Booty Shaking,’ July 7 headliner world famous Klass Band with classic ‘Take Me Back To the Sugar Shack,’ along with Candy Jones, Dana Wideman and Jerome the Entertainer. Sunday morning service for those that will miss their own respective services, Richmond County’s own David Robert’s praise team, biker blessing and abbreviated services with Richmond County Pastor Robert David and Royal Dominion Motorcycle Club President and Pastor William ‘Chaplin’ Lloyd.”
East Coast Biker’s Association and PROS4Charity (Public Relations Officers for Charity) has partnered together to “give back” to Richmond County, Edwards said. “We will have the bloodmobile on site for blood donations … (There will be) two drives during the event, can food drive with food going to Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina (more than 4,000 pounds was collected last year) … expecting to double that amount. We will also collect school supplies to be distributed to Richmond County Housing Authority students Saturday morning when they are guests at the Rally@Rock.”
“The ECBA association truly believes in giving back to the community,” said Edwards. “Residents spoke and we listened, providing the youth with opportunity to interact with racing that takes place in their own back yard. We are also giving back to the motorcycle community with providing Bikers Against Breast Cancer with a charity ride (cost of ride $10) hosted by Rockingham’s own Playaz Elite Motorcycle Club. Believing charity starts at home, we are giving the motorcycle community back over $3,500 to further causes that are dear to the ‘bike’ community. We are dedicated to building life relationships with Richmond County and the bike community we plan on being with both for the long haul.”
