Junior Vaughn Roberts, 83, of Rockingham, died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Richmond Pines Healthcare of Hamlet.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with Rev. Don Kevett officiating. Interment will follow at Eastside Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Roberts was born July 25, 1928, in Wilkes County, a son of the late James and Bertha Douglas Roberts. He served in the U.S Army. He was owner and operator of Robert’s Produce.

He is survived by his wife, Daisy Roberts of the home; one son, David Stacy of Laurel Hill; and one daughter, Margaret Parton of Laurel Hill; three sisters, Mae Leviner of Rockingham, Faye Gardner and Mattie Jones, both of Illinois; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
