Tiffany Carole Player and William Thomas Carpenter, both of Rockingham, were married at 6:30 p.m. on June 9, 2012, at Cypress Bend Vineyards in Wagram. Tim Huggins of Hope Mills officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Kim McIlwain of West End and Bobby Player of Warner Robins, Ga. She is the granddaughter of Brenda and Paul Bunce of Fayetteville and Shirley Player and the late Bobby Joe Player of Fayetteville.
The groom is the son of Beth and David Carpenter of Southern Pines. The groom is the grandson of Dennie Carpenter and the late Hall Carpenter of Albemarle and Annie Ruth Kelley and the late Thomas Kelley of Albemarle.
The bride wore a fitted lace gown with a keyhole back and chapel length train with a lace-edged fingertip length veil. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of green hydrangea with ivory roses, wax flower and calla lilies. Photos of her late grandfather and grandmother, and the groom’s late grandfathers and uncle were sewn to her bouquet.
The bride was escorted by her grandfather, Paul Bunce. The Maids of Honor were the bride’s sister, Jill McIlwain of Wilmington and Lindsey Hartgrove of West End. The bridesmaids were Katy Humphrey of Wilmington, Lauren Johnson of Wilmington, Lisa Mace of West End, Sandy O’Gorman of West End, Lauren Schwenk of Raleigh, Nicole Huggins of Hope Mills, Stephanie Bunce of Charlotte, and Savannah Kochel of Texas. The bridesmaids wore dresses of champagne and ivory and carried bouquets of green hydrangea.
The groom chose his father, David Carpenter, as his best man. The groomsmen were Robert Carpenter, brother of the groom, of Raleigh, Gabe Bruno of Southern Pines, Joe Burger of Charlotte, Phillip Ernst of Cana, Va., Stephen Fore of Southern Pines, Brandon Formyduval of Southern Pines, John Newton of Asheboro, Neil Perez of Greensboro, Wes Schwenk of Raleigh and Pete Van Camp of Virginia Beach, Va.
Music was provided by Brad Stockham of Pinehurst. Following the ceremony, a reception was given by the bride’s mother at Cypress Bend Vineyards.
The bride is a graduate of Aveda Institute Chapel Hill. She is currently employed at the Taylor David Salon in Southern Pines.
The groom is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill. He is currently employed at BB&T in Rockingham.
After a honeymoon in Marco Island, Fla., the couple will reside in Rockingham.
