AIKEN, S.C. — RPM Productions, Inc., the producer of the Miss North Carolina USA and Miss North Carolina Teen USA pageants, has announced registration for the 2013 pageant season is well under way. For the eleventh year in a row, High Point will host the event. The pageant will take place Nov. 9 and 10, 2012, at the High Point Theater.

“The furniture capital of the world is definitely a welcoming and one of a kind host city,” said Paula Miles, Executive Director. “We love to bring the contestants’ friends and families to the Piedmont Triad where they are surrounded by great shopping, food, and of course, High Point University.”

The pageants are the Official State Preliminaries to the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA Pageants, which are part of the Miss Universe Organization, a Donald J. Trump and NBCUniversal Partnership. Miss North Carolina USA 2012, Sydney Perry, recently competed at the nationally televised Miss USA Pageant in June.

The pageants will feature qualified contestants between the ages of 14-26, who will compete in interview, swimsuit and evening gown competitions. They will be vying for thousands of dollars in scholarships and prizes as well as the ability to travel the state promoting the pageants and its charitable alliances. RPM Productions has been a subsidiary of the Miss Universe Organization since 1980. They have produced the Miss South Carolina USA Pageant since 1980, the Miss Louisiana USA Pageant since 1990, the Miss North Carolina USA Pageant since 1992, and the Miss Alabama USA Pageant since 2011. In Mrs. Miles’ first year with the Miss Universe Organization, her very first winner, Shawn Weatherly, won the Miss Universe Pageant in Seoul, Korea. In the following years, her company has produced 4 Miss USA’s, 2 Miss Teen USA’s and 1 Miss World.

Prospective contestants may apply online at www.missnorthcarolinausa.com. Applicants must be a resident of North Carolina, a single female who has never been married and never had a child, and a United States citizen. Those wishing to apply must be between 18 and 26-years-old for Miss North Carolina USA, or 14 and 19-years-old for Miss North Carolina Teen USA as of Feb. 1, 2013.
