Five RSHS seniors interview for teaching fellow scholarship awards

Five Richmond Senior High School seniors will interview at the regional level for the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholarship awards. Winners of the competition receive $26,000 that is broken down into $6,500 annual increments. Following college graduation, the scholarship recipients are required to teach four years in North Carolina public schools. Each of the five finalists has completed the Teacher Cadet Course at RSHS, and each participates in the North Carolina Teacher Recruitment program. Winners will be announced in late March. The finalists,are (left) Andrea Green, Samantha Stewart, Ismael Gomez, Brittnie Lovin and Melanie Cockerton.
