Ashley Carter Gunter and Patrick Joseph Shilen were united in marriage on June 9, 2012, in Raleigh at Edenton Street United Methodist Church. A reception followed at the Renaissance Hotel in Raleigh.
The bride is the daughter of Stephen Gunter and the late Kathy Gunter and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Fesperman, all of Lexington, S.C., and the late Doris O’Keefe of Columbia, S.C.
The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Shilen of Hamlet and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. George Gulesian of Burnsville and the late Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Shilen of Pittsburgh, Penn.
The wedding party was as follows: Maid of Honor, Jessica Stein; Matrons of Honor, Amanda Gunter and Brittany McGillicuddy; Bridesmaids, Rachael Brumund, Katy Clark, Tanya Bailey, and Elizabeth Shelton. Best Man, Zachary Shilen; Groomsmen, Bryan Brumund, Bill Gunter, Michael Bailey, Scott Smith, Ricky Young and Lynn Brown. Flower girls were Ansley Gunter and Cheyanne Grant.
The couple lives in Raleigh and looks forward to celebrating their honeymoon in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
