ROCKINGHAM — The final three varsity fall schedules were released by the Richmond Senior athletic department this week.

The girls tennis team will have four nonconference matches to go along with its Southeastern Conference slate. Richmond will begin its season at home at 4 p.m. Aug. 21 when Lee County visits. The Raiders will travel to South View the following day before opening SEC play on Aug. 30 when Hoke County comes to town.

After playing all of their league foes once, the Raiders will again battle the Yellow Jackets and the Tigers on back-to-back days before beginning the second go-around in conference play. Richmond will travel to Sanford on Sept. 18 to play Lee County, before returning home on Sept. 19 to take on South View. The Raiders’ final home match is set for Sept. 27 against Lumberton and their final regular-season contest will be at Scotland on Oct. 4.

Richmond’s boys and girls cross country squads will participate in six meets before the conference meet on Oct. 16 at Pinecrest. The Raiders will open the season on Sept. 5 in a three-team meet at Hoke with Pinecrest. The only home meet Richmond has scheduled is a three-team meet with Purnell Swett and Scotland on Oct. 2.

Like the cross country team, the Raider girls golf team will have six matches this fall. Richmond will open the year at Bayonet at Puppy Creek Golf Club in Raeford.
