McKinley Ray Bennett, 88, passed away June 7, 2012.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 234 McGirts Bridge Road, Laurinburg, with Rev. Ruby P. Lennon, Pastor, and Rev. Charles Allen, Eulogist, officiating. Interment will follow in Northside Cemetery. Family hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
A public viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. on June 13 at Nelson Funeral Home in Rockingham.
McKinley was born Dec. 24, 1923, in Lilesville, the son of the late Holden and Pearlie Dunlap-Bennett. He attended public school in Anson County. He retired from Richmond Community College after twenty years of service. McKinley was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He worked on the Morgan Farm in Laurinburg as a farmer and in various mills and plants in the Laurel Hill, Laurinburg and Aberdeen areas.
McKinley is survived by his sister, Anna Virginia Bennett of Greensboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
