With graduation right around the corner, members of the inaugural class of Richmond County Ninth Grade Academy dedicated a bench and garden area in honor of the class of 2012.

“We wanted to present a gift to the school in commemoration of the first year class,” said Lori Clark, 2008-2009 PTO president.

Unique Stone, Inc. of Hamlet donated the stone bench and a tree was planted in an honorary area.

“We’re actually leaving our legacy in stone,” said senior Greg Balzer.
