Doris Spivey Moree, 84, wife of the late Rev. Carl Moree, Sr., died Monday, February 2, 2009 at Rockingham Manor.

Mrs. Moree was the daughter of the late Frank and Mattie Spivey. She was a member of Cobb Memorial Baptist Church and a homemaker.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her two sons, James Franklin Moree of Rockingham and Rev. Carl Moree, Jr. of Hamlet; four daughters, Linda Ray Benoist, Carla Sue Huggins, Billie Gail Allen, and Martha Kay Hudson, all of Rockingham; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Cobb Memorial Baptist Church by Rev. Carl Moree, Jr. and Rev. Horace Moree. Interment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 4, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at her son’s residence, Rev. Carl Moree, Jr., 918 County Home Rd., Hamlet.
