Mr. Ervin Vernon Roscoe, Sr., 85, of 665 Louis Breeden Boulevard, Hamlet, passed away, Saturday, June 2, 2012.
He was born in Hamlet, May 7, 1927, son of William Jennings Bryan Roscoe and Dorothy Ketchie Roscoe.
Mr. Roscoe was employed with Fetner Furniture and Burlington Industries, a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Springhill Wesleyan Church in Hamlet.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Spring Hill Wesleyan Church, from 6:00-8:00 pm.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Spring Hill Wesleyan Church with Rev. Edwin Luther, Rev. George Simmons, Rev. Stanley Stogner and Mr. Sidney Hodges officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Alice Louise Roscoe of the home; daughters, Dorothy Roscoe Griffin and husband, William of Rockingham and Betty Roscoe Kelly and husband, Donald of Laurinburg; sons, Ervin Vernon Roscoe, Jr. and wife Regina of Hamlet and Andrew Jennings Roscoe, Sr. of Hamlet; brother, Adam Reed Roscoe, Hamlet; sister, Evelyn Hodges Monroe, Hamlet; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
