Area student to participate in Leadership Summit

Christopher Clayton Davis, a 7th grade student at Rockingham Middle School, will travel to Harvard University in Boston to participate in a People to People Leadership Summit.

Davis will have the opportunity to learn about effective leadership and how to develop leadership abilities, as well as how to apply those skills upon returning home. The programs offer students a unique blend of specialized educational, leadership and cultural exposure as well as itineraries filled with the highlights of the hosting communities. Students enjoy a unique chance to enhance their self confidence, as well as experience life changing growth in personal responsibility, global leadership and cultural diversity.

Davis was also recognized by Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) and qualified their their three week Summer Studies Program, which is designed to motivate and challenge academically gifted students.

His parents are Jerome and Hettie Davis of Rockingham.
