Lillian Wright Medlin Samuels, 89, of Orange Park, FL formerly from Hamlet died Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Life Care Center in Orange Park, FL. She was born August 16, 1922 in Hamlet a daughter of the late Montgomery Bostic and Lottie Lowder Wright.
Mrs. Samuels retired from Southern Bell. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Williamson Bible Class. Lillian was also a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and Post 49 American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Jules G. Medlin, her second husband Fletcher A. Samuels and infant son Phillip Glenn Medlin.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Watson-King Funeral Home Chapel in Hamlet with Rev. Randy Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Mary Love Cemetery.
Surviving two daughters, Ann Murphy and husband Chuck of Lenoir City, TN and Sue Hicks and husband Bobby of Orange Park, FL. A brother, Robert P. “Bob” Wright and wife Doris of Hamlet. One grandchild, Stephen Matthew Shirley and wife Kylie of Virginia Beach, VA. A stepson, Gary Samuels and wife Betty Jean of Hamlet. Three step grandchildren, Fletcher Samuels and wife Amber of Statesville, NC, Ellen Samuels Turner and husband Jamie of Mooresville, NC and Amanda Reiser Samuels and husband Lindy of Mooresville, NC. Five step great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet.
