
Brittany Hudson and James Newton were the recipients of the Ed Ormsby Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was established in memory of the late Ed Ormsby who served as a member of the Richmond County Board of Education. Ormsby was a longtime educator and administrator in the public schools of North Carolina. Hudson and Newton are pictured with Fairview Heights Elementary Principal Julian Carter who presented the scholarship on behalf of the Ormsby family.

Richmond Senior High School’s Class of 2012 celebrated its numerous accomplishments at the annual Academic Awards Banquet held at the school May 24.
The Class of 2012 netted over $3.8 million in scholarships.

Commencement exercises for the Class of 2012 are scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday June 8, at Raider Stadium.
