The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Richmond and surrounding counties.
Central North Carolina is under a hazardous weather advisory today and tonight.
An isolated strong to severe thunderstorm is possible this afternoon through sunset. The primary weather hazards will be strong to damaging wind gusts, and hail to the size of nickels or quarters.
The storms will be slow moving, thus locally excessive rainfall may lead to minor flooding of streets and low-lying areas.
