Country artist Bucky Covington’s tour bus was involved in an accident Thursday on I-65 , in Birmingham, Ala., while on tour. Covington, of Rockingham, had already been dropped off for an earlier appearance, and was not on board at the time of the accident. Apparently, the bus crashed into a Goodwill truck, according to press releases Friday.
Covington’s camp is reporting no serious injuries from either vehicle, although a few passengers were taken to a nearby hospital for examination.
Covington was voted off of “American Idol” during Season 5, and then proceeded to sign a record deal with Lyric Street Records.
Covington’s shows in Germantown, Ill., on Friday, and Kenosha, Wisc., Saturday, did and will go on as scheduled, and Covington will be in the market soon for a new bus, so his summer and fall tour can go on as scheduled.
