In cooperation with the North Carolina Humanities Council, Scotia Village has announced that Scotland County native Mary Wayne Watson will be presenting a Road Scholar program entitled “Women’s Attitudes Toward Secession and the Civil War.”
The program will be held in the Morris Morgan Entertainment Center on the campus of Scotia Village on Friday, May 18, at 7 p.m., and is free and open to the public.
This program, through the unpublished documents and correspondence of gifted Sandhills women, provides a unique and fascinating perspective of the beginning, middle and end of the Civil War period in North Carolina.
This project is made possible by a grant from the North Carolina Humanities Council, a statewide nonprofit and affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
