Margaret Mauldin Brayboy Suggs, 72, of Hamlet, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted graveside Wednesday, May 2, at 3 p.m. with Pastor Darwin Cook and Pastor J.W. Williams officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet.

Mrs. Suggs was born May 16, 1939, in Scotland County, a daughter of the late David and Mary Mauldin. She worked at JP Stevens as a sewer for 19 years. She then worked at Easterling’s and Rachel’s Grill in East Laurinburg as a cook and waitress for 12 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Suggs Sr.; a sister, Ella Mae Fowler; and two brothers, Harry Mauldin and David Mauldin Jr.

Surviving are two daughters, Ann Richardson of the home and Marilyn Spry of Hamlet; three sons, Johnny Brayboy of Wagram, Willie Brayboy of McColl, and James Brayboy of Ellerbe; thirteen grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Yvonne Thompson of Rockingham and Genvera Breeden of Laurinburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to Richmond County Hospice, 1119 N. US 1 Hwy., Rockingham, NC 28379.
