SHALLOTTE — Richmond Senior outfielder Cierra Bowden recorded three of her team’s six hits and knock in four to lead the Raiders to a 7-3 victory over East Wilkes Tuesday afternoon.
Bowden drove in two with an one-out single in the first, knocked in another run with a single in the fifth and closed out her 3-for-4 day with a run-scoring double in the seventh. Caroline Kirkland was 2-of-3 with two RBIs. Ashton Davenport notched the other hit for Richmond.
“The seven runs is the most we have put up in several games,” Richmond coach Wendy Wallace said. “Hopefully, we will be able to continue to hit when we get back into conference next week.”
Casey Snead limited East Wilkes to two hits and a walk, while striking out 11 in five innings to earn her second straight victory in the tournament hosted by West Brunswick. Hunter Parks pitched the final two innings, allowing three runs.
The Raiders (11-5) are slated to play in the championship game at 7 p.m. today against Topsail.
