HIGH POINT — Mr. Willie Howard Wallace Sr., 80, of 1718 Lamb Ave., died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009 at his residence.

A son of Emmanuel and Talluah Ellison Wallace, he was born Nov. 23, 1928 in Hamlet. He owned and operated a furniture store on E. Washington Dr. in the 60s.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2009 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1405 Penny Rd., with Phil Martin presiding. Entombment will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Hall on Friday from 12:30 to 1 p.m. and other times at the residence of Perry and Betty Wallace, 3217 Loftyview Drive, High Point.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Drayton Wallace; his parents; and two brothers, Clifton and Cleveland.

Survivors include five sons, Willie H. Wallace Jr. of Harrisburg, Pa., Chris H. Wallace of Winston-Salem, Perry Wallace, Emmanuel Wallace, both of High Point, and Michael A. Wallace of Atlanta, Ga.; three daughters, Joann Lindsey, Phyllis Moore and Annette D. Sibert, all of High Point; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Otis Wallace, George Wallace and Prince Wallace, all of High Point; five sisters, Catherine Strong of Hamlet, Beulah Fair of High Point, Janie Chavis, Louise Martin and Peggy Wallace, all of High Point.
