Barbara Rogers
Barbara Blackmon Rogers, 72, of Rockingham, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at her home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Beverly Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Mickey Briles officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home.
Barbara was born Dec. 31, 1939, in Lancaster, S.C., a daughter of the late Baxter Blackmon and Katherine Taylor Blackmon McCormick and step-father Walter J. McCormick. She was a member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church and was Owner and Operator of American Welding. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Rogers.
She is survived by her son, David Rogers of the home; four daughters, Tammy Canupp and husband David of Rockingham, Cathy Baker and husband Lance of Portsmouth Va., Michelle Reinhold and husband Lawrence of Hampstead, and Sherry Lewis and husband Lanny of Rockingham; her fiancée, Ebbie W. Poplin; two brothers, Alvin Blackmon of Rockingham and Hugh Gurano of Little River, S.C.; and her sister-in-law, Christy Sellars and husband Charlie; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
